“Normally it takes only eleven days to travel from Mount Sinai to Kadesh-barnea, going by way of Mount Seir.” – Deuteronomy 1:2 NLT
Have you ever felt like God is just making you wait for no reason? You believe you are ready, but circumstances have not yet lined up. You have done your preparation, but you have not yet received the “Go.”
The Israelites spent forty years making an eleven-day trip from Egypt to the border of the Promised Land. Their journey was not geographical, it was cultural. God used that forty years not to get them into Israel, but to get Egypt out of them.
The problem we face when God makes us wait is that we feel like the time is being wasted. But God knows what He is doing–and He wastes nothing. The waiting time feels unproductive, but there are things for you to learn, there are things for you to remove, there are things for you to build in the waiting time.
The reality is, nobody likes to wait. But trust that God is doing something in the waiting. Waiting time is not wasted time.
