For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast. – Proverbs 15:15 NLT
There is a story about two kids that were promised that something great awaited them in the next room. The first walked in and found a huge pile of toys. After a few minutes, he became bored and started complaining about each toy. The second found a huge pile of manure and began jumping for joy.
“Why are you so excited?” she was asked.
“With all this manure,” she replied,” there has to be a pony in here somewhere!”
You rarely get to choose what happens to you, but you always get to choose your attitude. When you choose an attitude, two things happen. First, your attitude determines how you process what happens. If you choose to be despondent, you will see trouble in everything. If you choose happiness, you will focus upon the best of your day.
Second, by choosing an attitude, you also choose influence the next thing that happens to you. Generally, people react better to people with bright attitudes than sour. Better things happen to those who have attitudes that invite positive reactions.
You cannot choose your circumstances, but you always have the power to choose your attitude. Choose wisely!
