Speak it. Think it. Do it.

Speak it. Think it. Do it.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” – Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do you want to prosper and have success? I hope your answer is, “Yes,” because God’s Word is full of advice about how to be prosperous and successful. In addition, there are countless verses of admonition telling the reader that prosperity and success are worthwhile goals.

But here is the rub: You do not get to define what prosperity and success are. Only God does. Only when we prosper in the means and measures that God lays out will He consider us successful.

That is why He tells Joshua about the importance of being in God’s Word daily. Joshua’s goal was to internalize the Word. He was to speak it, think it, and do it. He could only do that if he had read and internalized it.

Do you know why this is so important? When we internalize the Word of God, we actually begin to understand God and His world from God’s point of view. And, when we see as God sees, we do what God says.

If you want to be prosperous and successful, we need to adopt God’s command to Joshua. Read God’s Word with the intention to speak it, think it, do it.

Then you will be prosperous and successful.
