Promises, Promises

Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true. – Joshua 21:45 NLT
Promises are the seedbed of hope. When someone makes a promise, we begin to have expectations in a future. We visualize what will be based upon that promise. Unfortunately, most of us has experiences enough broken promises to make us cynical. Instead of dreaming about fulfilled promises, we take a “Wait and see” approach.
But God has shown over and over that He is not just a promise-maker, He is a promise keeper. We can trust that there is no difference between God’s promise and future outcome. What God says will happen does happen.
Really, that’s what faith is: knowing God’s promises and living as if they are going to come true. When God fulfills a promise, we say He has been faithful–In essence, He has made our faith full.
“I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness” (Psalms 89:1).
When God fulfills a promise in your life, sing about it, tell someone about it. Tell of His faithfulness. The more you do, the more confident you will be in God as a promise-keeper.
