Food that Fills

Food that Fills

Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.” – John‬ ‭4:34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So often, it is difficult to pick up the yoke of service to God. We count the cost–the time, the resources, the emotional investment–and determine we just do not have the capacity. What we too often do not count is what we receive in our service.

Two incredible things happen when we serve God by doing His will.

First, we get a front-row seat to see God in action. Experiencing the power, love, mercy, and compassion of God running through you is unexplainable and addictive. Second, we get to see God’s fruit. Perhaps the only thing better than experiencing God working through you is to watch Him work through someone you led to Him.

The wonderful truth about doing God’s will is that, despite our fears of the opposite, we are refreshed and energized by it. Yes, we still get tired in the work. Yes, self-care should never be neglected. But, never discount the power of God to revive the weary soul and body that says, “Yes” to His will.
